Can you believe it? The big 2-5-0 is almost here! 🎆
I’m sitting here with a cup of coffee, looking at the calendar, and honestly, my heart is doing a little happy dance. We aren't just talking about another July 4th where we fire up the grill and call it a day. We are talking about the United States Semiquincentennial. (Try saying that five times fast! Actually, don’t. It’s a mouthful. Yikes!)
Two hundred and fifty years of history, struggle, triumphs, and, most importantly, community. And because we at ACC Bazaar are all about bringing people together, we knew we had to do something absolutely massive for this milestone.
So, grab your sunblock and your best patriotic gear, because we are throwing a party at the Shoppes at Solana in El Paso that you won’t want to miss!
A Little Trip Down Memory Lane (The 1776 Vibe)
Before we get into the snacks and the shopping (and oh boy, there will be shopping), let’s take a second to talk about why this date actually matters.
Back in 1776, a group of very brave (and probably very stressed out) people gathered in Philadelphia to sign a document that basically said, "Hey, we’re doing our own thing now." They weren't just signing a piece of paper; they were launching a journey. When Thomas Jefferson wrote about "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," he was setting a bar that we’re still reaching for today.
FUN FACT: Did you know that independence was actually voted for on July 2nd? But July 4th is the day the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration. So, technically, we’ve been celebrating a couple of days late for 250 years. Typical, right?
But seriously, celebrating our 250th isn't just about looking back at the guys in powdered wigs. It’s about celebrating us. It’s about the vendors who start a small business in their garage, the artists who pour their souls into a canvas, and the families who show up to support them. That is the American dream in action, right here in our own backyard.

The Plan? A Massive Bazaar in El Paso!
We’ve been planning this for months, and I’m finally able to spill the beans. Everything is looking ship shape for July 4th!
We are turning the Shoppes at Solana into the ultimate weekend market El Paso destination for the holiday. If you’ve never been to one of our events before, you are in for a treat. We take over the mall corridors and common areas and fill them with the most incredible talent our community has to offer.
Where: Shoppes at Solana (750 Sunland Park Dr, El Paso, TX)
When: July 4th, 11 AM to 9 PM
The Vibe: Pure, unadulterated joy.
I’ll be honest, sometimes organizing these big events can be a bit overwhelming. My "To-Do" list is currently three pages long and I definitely had a moment yesterday where I forgot where I parked my car because I was thinking about table layouts. Sad face. But then I see the list of vendors coming, and I get so pumped! It’s all worth it to see the community come alive.
What’s Cooking? (Literally!)
You can’t have a 250th birthday party without food. That’s just a rule of nature. We are going to have a spread that will make your mouth water just thinking about it.
We’re talking local favorites, snacks that are perfect for walking and browsing, and maybe some red-white-and-blue treats that are almost too pretty to eat. (Almost. I’m definitely eating them.)
But it’s not just about the food. This is an arts bazaar at its finest. We have gathered the most talented creators for this vendor market, and the variety is wild.
- Support Local Art: We’ve got painters, digital artists, and sculptors who are bringing the heat.
- Handmade Goods: From soaps that smell like a dream to leatherwork that will last a lifetime.
- Unique Finds: This is where you find the stuff you can’t get at a big-box store.

Games, Music, and Pure Fun
I wanted this event to feel like a massive community block party. We’ve got music lined up that will keep the energy high all day long. I might even be tempted to show off some of my "dad moves" on the dance floor. (You’ve been warned. It’s not pretty.)
We’re also setting up games and activities for the kids (and the kids-at-heart). We want you to come and stay a while! Browsing the vendor directory is great, but experiencing the buzz of the crowd, the sound of local musicians, and the laughter from the game area is what makes it a real event.
What do you think? Are you ready to beat the El Paso heat and celebrate in the cool comfort of the mall with us?
Why Supporting Small Business is the Real Celebration
I often get asked why we do these events every month. Why not just host one big one a year?
Well, the truth is, small businesses don't just happen once a year. Our monthly events at locations like Mesilla Valley Mall and Shoppes at Solana provide a consistent place for entrepreneurs to grow. When you support small business, you aren't just buying a product; you’re helping a neighbor pay their rent, put their kids through dance lessons, or finally pursue their passion full-time.
That feels pretty "American Dream-ish" to me, don't you think?
By choosing to shop at our arts bazaar, you are keeping the spirit of 1776 alive: the spirit of independence, creativity, and building something from the ground up.
Tips & Tricks for a Perfect July 4th at Shoppes at Solana
If you want to make the most of the day, I’ve got you. A little planning goes a long way, and trust me, it helps keep the whole experience feeling fun instead of frazzled. We want you vibin’, not stressing!
- Arrive early: Parking fills up fast, and getting there sooner gives you first dibs on the best finds.
- Wear comfortable shoes: You’ll be doing a lot of walking, browsing, and maybe a little happy-dance shopping too.
- Bring cash: Some vendors are cash-only, so having a little spending money ready is a smart move.
- Stay hydrated: El Paso heat is no joke, even if you’re spending time inside cooling off.
- Bring the whole family: There’s fun for all ages, so nobody has to miss out.
- Plan to stay the whole day: With the event running from 11 AM to 9 PM, you’ve got plenty of time to eat, shop, hang out, and soak up the whole celebration.
And honestly? This is such a great chance to support local small businesses while finding unique handmade gifts you won’t see in the usual big-box spots. That’s my favorite kind of shopping, not gonna lie!
